Works of Art

The Grugapark collection includes works from the classic modern up to contemporary art. The open air locations surrounded by nature allow the sculptures to appear in continually changing light and other “backgrounds” according to the time of day and the season. There are always new aspects to discover: the work of art itself remains unchanged but the observer’s eye takes in new colours and shapes – sometimes in bright sunshine, sometimes in the twilight. With a stone or metal emphasis from a distance or imposing close up. Sometimes posing against a bleak winter landscape, sometimes set amid glorious flowers.

The Grugapark sculpture collection encompasses more than 40 sculptures including works from famous artists such as Henry Moore, Brigitte and Martin Matschinsky-Denninghoff and Alfred Hrdlicka.
